Submitted product types

The first goal of the Euro Chlor Biocides Registration Group was to submit, for certain substances, a joint notification dossier for all interested members of Euro Chlor.

For certain substances, application categories have been identified that are well known and for these product types, the support was approved by the group. For other product types, the group raised questions about the actual scientific justification or economic merit of declaring the use of these products as active substances in biocidal products.

Subsequently the Biocides Registration groups submitted active substances dossiers to the RMS for the purpose of approval of chlorine, sodium hypochlorite and calcium hypochlorite as biocidal active substances under the European biocides legislation. These technical dossiers were submitted in 2007 (PT 1-5) and 2008 (PT 11 + 12). All the dossiers have been accepted and are undergoing evaluation by the RMS.

The 2007 dossiers have been discussed at the Biocides Technical Meeting in 2012 and WGs in 2016 and are being updated according to requests from these. With the introduction of the Biocidal Products Regulation, the ECHA Biocidal Products Committee (BPC) took over responsibilities of the Technical Meeting. The 2007 dossiers (for PT1-5) were discussed by the BPC in December 2016 and the opinions were approved.

The detailed list of Product Types that were included in the different dossiers is shown below. You can also download this list of Product Types document (pdf)
