February 2018 Chlorine Production

Friday, April 6, 2018

In February 2018, the European chlorine production reached 780,997 tonnes.

With 27,893 tonnes, the February average daily production was 2.6% higher than in the previous month (January 2018: 27,198 tonnes), and 0.7% higher than in February 2017 (27,694 tonnes).

With 279,487 tonnes, the February 2018 caustic soda stocks were 9.6% higher than in the previous month (January 2018: 255,103 tonnes), and 53,173 tonnes above the level of February 2017 (226,314 tonnes).

Important note: the substantial difference in the reported stocks between January and February 2018 is due to a correction following an error from Euro Chlor in the reported January 2018 stocks due to some links that failed working properly between the Excel files in the data transfer from 2017 to 2018. Euro Chlor sincerely apologises for this error.

The details of chlorine production and caustic soda stocks in the EU-28 countries plus Norway and Switzerland in February 2018 are provided in the following tables.

Note to editors:
Some of the totals for each month may vary slightly compared with figures used earlier. Please rely on the most recent information since it sometimes happens that estimates have to be made when data is supplied late by a producer. This is subsequently adjusted when the actual figure becomes available.
