What you should know about dioxins - Information Sheet
Monday, January 10, 2011
Euro Chlor, representing the European Chlor-Alkali industry, has edited an Information Sheet on dioxins. It is available on the Federation’s website.
In view of the dimensions of the dioxin food chain
contamination in Germany, Euro Chlor has edited an Information Sheet on
dioxins.
This
one-pager is very factual and develops some basic but important
facts on this group of substances.
It is important to note that:
- incomplete combustion is a source of many important carcinogens
and toxins, not only of dioxins, e.g. polycyclic aromatic
polycarbons and fine particles
- all these toxins are decreasing strongly over the last 40, 50
years in emission and immission, including the dioxins, including
the load of mother milk, daily intake, blood contamination, content
in all kind of animals and plants.
Links to official websites (WHO and Umwelt Bundesambt Germany)
are included for further documentation.
You will find all existing Euro Chlor Information Sheets on the
website
