January 2020 Chlorine Production

In January, the European chlorine production reached 828,393 tonnes. With 26,722 tonnes, the January 2020 average daily production was 8.7% higher than in the previous month (December 2019: 24,582 tonnes), but 4.0% lower than in January 2019 (27,841 tonnes).

With 226,479 tonnes, the January 2020 caustic soda stocks were 0.4% higher than in the previous month (December 2019: 225,632 tonnes), and 46,153 tonnes below the level of January 2019 (272,632 tonnes).

The following tables give the details of chlorine production and caustic soda stocks in the EU-28 countries plus Norway and Switzerland in January 2020.
