MAY 2023 CHLORINE PRODUCTION

In May, the European chlorine production reached 622,028 tonnes. With 20,065 tonnes, the May 2023 average daily production was 0.3% higher than in the previous month (April 2023: 20,013 tonnes), but 16.9% lower than in May 2022 (24,144 tonnes).

With 267,745 tonnes, the May 2023 caustic soda stocks were 8.8% lower than in the previous month (April 2023: 293,686 tonnes) but 74,577 tonnes above the level of May 2022 (193,168 tonnes).

The following tables give the details of chlorine production and caustic soda stocks in the EU-27 countries plus Norway, Switzerland, and the UK in May 2023.
