Sodium Chlorate Sector Group
Some of the interests of European sodium chlorate producers are represented by the Sodium Chlorate Sector Group (SCSG) which works to promote best practice, support the long-term sustainability of the sodium chlorate industry and promote the benefits of our product.

Sodium chlorate’s main use is the generation of chlorine dioxide for pulp bleaching. Pulp is a key ingredient in the production of paper and cardboard. Sodium chlorate is a crystalline white powder which is made by the electrolysis of a hot sodium chloride (NaCl, common salt) solution. It was formerly used as an herbicide but this use was banned in Europe in 2008.
