JANUARY 2024 CHLORINE PRODUCTION

In January, the European chlorine production stood at 692,622 tonnes. With 22,343 tonnes, the January 2024 average daily production was 13.7% higher than in the previous month (December 2023: 19,659 tonnes) and 17.2% higher than in January 2023 (19,058 tonnes).

With 230,022 tonnes, the January 2024 caustic soda stocks were 4.1% higher than in the previous month (December 2023: 220,980 tonnes), but 61,116 tonnes below the level of January 2023 (291,138 tonnes).

The following tables give the details of chlorine production and caustic soda stocks in the EU-27 countries plus Norway, Switzerland, and the UK in January 2024.
