What do bubble bath and cat litter trays have in common…?
Want to smell nice and sweet for your big night out?
Caustic soda (sodium hydroxide) can be mixed with glycerol and fatty acids to make soap. Olive oil, soybean oil, coconut oil and many others can be used to make great-smelling solid soap. Caustic potash (potassium hydroxide) can even be used to make liquid soap for your shower!

After rinsing your cat litter tray with water, sodium hypochlorite (an important chlor-alkali product, also called bleach) can be carefully used to disinfect the surface of the tray and help keep your kitty healthy! These disinfectants also play a role in cleaning your home too.
