INOVYN to decarbonise in France

23/12/2020

Euro Chlor member company INOVYN has announced plans to decarbonise their salt process at its facility in Tavaux, France.

INOVYN's brine electrolysis plant in Tavaux produces essential chemicals for PVC production. This new investment will improve energy efficiency on the site by converting their brine concentration process to run on steam produced by electricity and not gas.

These activities are expected to cut CO2 emissions by over 60,000 tonnes per year and the new unit is expected to start up in 2023.

INOVYN's Business Director, Filipe Constant, noted that “the new unit will allow INOVYN to significantly reduce its carbon footprint at Tavaux, building on other sustainability improvements at the site.”
