Kemira signs new wind power deal to further reduce GHG emissions

15/02/2021

Kemira and Statkraft have signed a new 10 year power purchase agreement to deliver 43.8 GWh renewable wind energy per year to Kemira’s Finnish sites. The wind power is sourced from the Statkraft’s Harbaksfjellet wind farm in Norway. It is part of Europe’s largest onshore wind project, the Fosen Wind. The first renewable energy purchase agreement between Kemira and Statkraft was signed in 2020.

Kemira has set an ambitious climate target of 30% reduction in combined Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, by 2030 and pledged to be carbon neutral by 2045. A majority of these Scope 2 emissions come from the purchased energy. For more information, click here.
