SEPTEMBER 2023 CHLORINE PRODUCTION

In September, the European chlorine production stood at 590,676 tonnes. With 19,689 tonnes, the September 2023 average daily production was 2.4% lower than in the previous month (August 2023: 20,166 tonnes), but 2.0% higher than in September 2022 (19,306 tonnes).

With 260,790 tonnes, the September 2023 caustic soda stocks were 8.3% higher than in the previous month (August 2023: 240,778 tonnes) and 72,331 tonnes above the level of September 2022 (188,459 tonnes).

The following tables give the details of chlorine production and caustic soda stocks in the EU-27 countries plus Norway, Switzerland, and the UK in September 2023.
