The European Chlorinated Solvent Association (ECSA) welcomes the international agreement reached by the OECD Cooperative Chemicals Assessment Programme on the hazard assessment of dichloromethane and carbon tetrachloride.

In March the European chlorine production reached 856,659 tonnes.

In February the European chlorine production reached 748,610 tonnes.

In January 2012 the European chlorine production stood at 840,605 tonnes. With 27,116 tonnes, the January average daily production was 10% higher than in the previous month (December 2011: 24,644 tonnes), but 2.3% lower than in January 2011 (27,760 tonnes).

In December, the European chlorine production stood at 763,911 tonnes. With 24,642 tonnes, the December average daily production was 3.3% lower than in the previous month (November 2011: 25,475 tonnes), and 5.5% lower than in December 2010 (26,076 tonnes).

In November, the European chlorine production reached 769,364 tonnes. With 25,645 tonnes, the November average daily production was 0.2% lower than in the previous month (October 2011: 25,692 tonnes), and 8.1% lower than in November 2010 (27,896 tonnes).

The October European chlorine production stood at 796,446 tonnes. With 25,692 tonnes, the October average daily production was 3.5% lower than in the previous month (September 2011: 26,614 tonnes), and 1.6% lower than in October 2010 (26,116 tonnes).

In September, the European chlorine production reached 798,069 tonnes. With 26,602 tonnes, the September average daily production was 0.8% lower than in the previous month (August 2011: 26,818 tonnes), but 4.4% higher than in September 2010 (25,481 tonnes).

The August European chlorine production stood at 827,483 tonnes. With 26,693 tonnes, the August average daily production was 6.1% lower than in the previous month (July 2011: 28,415 tonnes), and 5.2% lower than in August 2010 (28,162 tonnes).

In July, the European chlorine production reached 879,744 tonnes. With 28,379 tonnes, the July average daily production was 0.2% lower than in the previous month (June 2011: 28,445 tonnes), but 2.9% higher than in July 2010 (27,572 tonnes).
