Some 280 delegates made it to Warsaw, Poland on 3rd May for the start of the Euro Chlor 11th International Chlorine Technology Conference and Exhibition. Marleen Pauwels, Euro Chlor Executive Director, kicked off the first general session of the event with a short introduction and introduced the first main speaker, Wouter Bleukx, Chair of the Euro Chlor Management Committee, who reiterated the Euro Chlor Mid Century Strategy and explained how it had been developed. Ton Manders, Euro Chlor's Technical and Safety Director, then gave more details about the Euro Chlor third 10-year Sustainability Programme and results. The final speaker in this first session, Henry Warren of IHS Markit, talked about the industries that drive chlorine, gave some derivative market highlights and an overview of the European chlorine market.

Two more technical sessions followed during the first day - the first entitled 'Safety Leader" and the second "Carbon Neutral Player". Moderated by Kristof May, Euro Chlor Regulatory Affairs Manager and Ton Manders, respectively, these sessions were a mixture of presentations by Euro Chlor members on key topics and Euro Chlor partners on their technological developments.

In the exhibition, Euro Chlor has a booth number 46 which features all of our recent publications and videos so delegates of the conference could drop by and learn about these.
